Now, on a different note, I am very fortunate that over the years I have met some awesome people that share the same desires and goals as I do and I can’t tell you how much I enjoy working together as a team with them to accomplish different goals, see new projects come to life, or to just help each other.

So, being a buddy, of course I took a look at it, but I will be honest, at first I wasn’t all that impressed because the page didn’t mention a lot of details and you had to register to get your own promotion page (no charge) before you could find out the exact nitty-gritty details of what they were working on.
I like knowing as much as possible upfront and in this case I really didn’t. However, I do trust Doug’s judgement because he’s no different than I am, he does a lot of researching and investigating and so I knew full-well that if Doug thought it was worth looking into, then there was no question left for me (and the price was right too, there is no charge to get your site).

As you probably already know, Doug and I run a very popular giveaway twice a year and we have a ton of fun doing it but I will be honest, hosting an event like that is also a lot of work.

One of the really cool things about hosting such an event is talking to the partners and seeing how it’s running for them and of course, our event is not the only one in town (so to speak), but there are many such events throughout the year that you can participate in and it’s not even hard, but it can get confusing, a little bit, if I am honest.

I don’t participate in every event, I have gotten rather picky, but when I started out, I did for about 6 months join every single giveaway event I could be invited for (some are pretty strict on how to get in) and I very quickly in just a few months added an extra 6,000 subscribers to my lists.

Let’s face it, lately there have been a bunch of launches again, all for mega bucks and then there have been some more reasonable ones, for a couple of bucks, like the ones I told you about at XavierNelson.com.

One type of resources I used when I first started out getting serious about my business was a set of so-called traffic exchanges, after all, back then, everyone said you had to have tons of traffic to your site to succeed.

I got some so-so results with those, but there was one thing I did realize, if you could use one to promote the other and then cross promote yet another, well, then you could really get an automated system going to increase the number of credits and referrals you got, which was really pretty cool.

Later on, sites came out that were designed to help you build your list, something I realized was one of the most important aspects to my long-term success and over time I joined almost every single one of them, some ok, some not so hot, but one thing I noticed is that regardless of which one, it gave me a greater reach, to invite new people to join my own newsletter or to extend the reach of my promotional letter, making me some extra bucks.

Would you like a new list every single day of the week? Before today that just wasn’t possible… and certainly not without forking over your wallet but that’s not the case at http://www.xaviernelson.com/access/to/speedylist.
