I hope you had a wonderful long weekend. Here outside of Houston we were rained in the whole time, but that’s just the way it goes sometimes. It didn’t stop us from having a lot of fun anyway, we played ‘The Game of Life’, Uno, Monopoly, some video games, talked a lot and enjoyed the company of each other and the kids and getting to spend quality time together.

Unfortunately, our bigger family get-together with BBQ and steak and all the other goodies was all washed up, but that’s ok, there are other weekends, right?

Have you noticed lately that there have been a ton of new releases hitting the market pretty much daily?

A lot of it is absolute junk, but there are some really good nuggest of gold coming out too that can really help you succeed and definitely make your life easier.

Don’t you hate it when the ‘gurus in your mailbox’ flood you with product after product of ‘new’ stuff that’ll make you a fortune or famous overnight?

Well, I absolutely HATE IT! Especially when they don’t even bother to go through the product!

Personally, it’s very rare that I send out anything unless I have taken a very close look myself, or if I have known the creator for an extremely long time and know them personally and what their trackrecord is to create powerful and useful resources. If by chance I don’t get to take a look I even go as far as telling you, but I always tell you to check it out for yourself to see if it’s a good fit with your plans and budget.

So, a lot has happened these past few days and it’s all because of a different launch that’s going on today. To say that this launch has been a distractor from my work is putting it mildly, you see, a while back, I started getting emails from some of my mentors and friends, phonecalls, you name it, asking me if one of my upcoming project ideas had been totally and completely ripped off by someone…

You work your rear-end off, come up with a killer-idea that will help tons of people, just like you and me, and then someone asks if your idea was stolen by another marketer…

Needless to say I dropped what I was doing and started doing some indepth research into what was happening right away.

It all started a couple of months ago, when I was at JVAlert in Orlando together with a whole bunch of very successful marketers and also the gang from StomperNet was there. Hundreds of like-minded people, we had a blast. I even got to present my awesome idea to the group and the panel of experts for their critique and while my presentation itself sucked a bit, the idea came across well, as I noticed from the ongoing conversations I was having with the panel members and also my friends and peers all weekend long.

So far so good, right? So I’ve been working in the background on this project, slowly but surely getting it all together and should be ready to launch within a few months because, like all good projects, it went through a number of changes and revisions to make it even better, so it can help you more.

Whew, I feel a ton better to be honest, because I won’t lie to you, I was scared, big time. But I also learned a couple of great lessons that will help you too.

First off, you need to surround yourself with great friends that will look out for you. I am truly blessed to have made a ton of friends along the way, people I can rely on, friends I can share ideas with, marketers I can brainstorm with and I know I can feel secure they will not rip me off. Don’t just go out there and announce your ideas, think first about who might hear the idea and what might they do with it…

The gang at JVAlert was also great, I was able to openly share my ideas and thoughts and sure, this powerful information at http://www.xaviernelson.com/hedidittoo has a similar theme but that’s it, my thoughts, ideas and the project are safe allowing me to continue to work on it, but you do need to take heed, there are some places you won’t want to mention your ideas.

Another thing you’ll want to keep in mind is that your friends will definitely ‘have your back’ and stand up for you if anything odd is going on. I can’t thank my ‘gang’ enough for everything, they are a bunch of great people and the really fun part is that we are fulfilling our dreams together, we all help each other, we are all there to aid one another in achieving our goals. And that’s something you cannot put a price-tag on at all, so make sure and surround yourself with people like that.

I will be introducing you to more of my ‘gang’ (we need a good clubname lol) as time goes by and we all want to help you succeed.
